Honda CB500 Hornet

LAMS Approved. Hornet Attitude.

Meet the Honda CB500 Hornet – a sharp, agile naked bike that combines everyday usability with unmistakable Hornet attitude.

Powered by Honda's proven 471cc parallel-twin engine, the CB500 Hornet delivers smooth, responsive performance with plenty of usable mid-range torque. Add premium Showa suspension, dual front disc brakes, Honda Selectable Torque Control and a full-colour TFT display, and you've got a LAMS-approved motorcycle that's packed with features.

Whether you're stepping up to your first larger road bike, commuting during the week or chasing winding roads on the weekend, the CB500 Hornet is built to make every ride enjoyable.

471cc Twin-Cylinder Performance

At the heart of the CB500 Hornet is a 471cc liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin engine, producing 35kW of power and 43Nm of torque.

The engine delivers strong, usable performance through the mid-range, making it easy to manage around town while still having plenty to offer when the road opens up.

Honda's PGM-FI electronic fuel injection provides smooth throttle response and dependable performance, while the twin-cylinder engine delivers an engaging exhaust note as the revs rise.

LAMS Approved

The CB500 Hornet is LAMS approved, making it an excellent option for learner and restricted licence riders wanting a motorcycle they won't quickly outgrow.

Its combination of manageable power, predictable handling and an upright riding position makes it approachable for developing riders, while the quality chassis and 471cc twin provide plenty of capability for more experienced riders too.

Manual or Honda E-Clutch

The CB500 Hornet is available with a traditional 6-speed manual transmission or Honda's innovative E-Clutch system.

With E-Clutch, you can start, stop and change gears without operating the clutch lever. Simply use the foot lever to shift up and down through the gearbox while the system automatically manages clutch operation.

Want to use the clutch yourself? You still can – giving you the freedom to ride whichever way suits you.

Premium Showa Suspension

The CB500 Hornet features 41mm Showa Separate Function Fork Big Piston (SFF-BP) upside-down forks at the front, providing excellent feedback, control and ride quality.

At the rear, a Pro-Link monoshock with adjustable preload helps keep the bike composed across changing road surfaces.

The result is responsive, confidence-inspiring handling whether you're navigating city streets or enjoying your favourite stretch of winding road.

Honda Selectable Torque Control

Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) helps manage rear-wheel traction when grip levels change.

Whether the road is wet, slippery or you're accelerating through a corner, HSTC provides an additional layer of confidence without taking away from the riding experience.

Dual Front Disc Brakes with ABS

Strong braking performance comes from dual 296mm front discs with Nissin radial-mount two-piston calipers, paired with a 240mm rear disc.

Standard ABS helps provide controlled braking when conditions are less than ideal.

Assist/Slipper Clutch

The assist/slipper clutch helps make the CB500 Hornet even easier to ride.

It reduces clutch lever effort while also helping manage rear-wheel chatter during aggressive downshifts and hard braking – particularly useful when you're learning or riding through stop-start traffic.

5-Inch Full-Colour TFT Display

A modern 5-inch full-colour TFT display puts key riding information directly in front of you.

Optical bonding helps reduce glare and improve readability in bright conditions, giving the CB500 Hornet a premium cockpit to match its aggressive styling.

Sharp Hornet Styling

The CB500 Hornet brings the aggressive styling of Honda's larger Hornet family into a LAMS-approved package.

Sharp bodywork, a compact tail section and an aggressive front end give it a distinctive streetfighter look, while full LED lighting provides excellent visibility and road presence.

Comfortable Everyday Riding

Performance doesn't have to come at the expense of practicality.

An upright riding position, manageable 785mm seat height and 17.1-litre fuel tank make the CB500 Hornet well suited to commuting and everyday riding as well as longer weekend trips.

It's sporty when you want it to be, but comfortable and manageable when you simply need to get from A to B.
